Jeep Wranglers are a ton of fun and one of the most unique lines of vehicles out there. However, is it the right fit for you and is it a practical purchase? Well here are some important factors to consider when purchasing a Jeep.
1. Wranglers are unique vehicles with attitude
2. Wranglers put the “utility” in SUV, whether you tow something, top down at the beach or hauling groceries
3. Test drive the Wrangler to make sure it fits your lifestyle, on and off road where possible
4. Owning a Jeep can become an addiction; there are many Jeep clubs and events
5. Jeeps have one of the largest lines of accessories, you can be different
Obviously there are the general practices you need to follow when buying a vehicle. When considering a Jeep, remember that they are a different breed and oh so much fun!

Well if you haven’t read the headlines today then you missed a great “misstatement” by Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood. In front of a congressional subcommittee he said that owners of recalled Toyotas should “stop driving” their vehicles until they were repaired. Now he is saying that was a misstatement.
In either case Toyota has dug themselves into a major hole. The accelerator issue is huge and seems to have been overlooked initially but now is just snowballing out of control. On top of this they are also facing new complaints about brakes on Prius’s.
Has Toyota been truthful with us? Did they overlook the problem? Will consumers regain their trust in that brand? I believe our domestic manufacturers, across the board, offer much better product. Whether its our Chevy vehicles or Ford or Jeep, etc. people should re-think their purchasing decisions in the future. No longer should any one manufacturer get a free pass as building the “best” vehicles on the market. lando

Most people don’t know that filling your vehicle tires with Nitrogen is a safe and better alternative to just regular air. Nitrogen in tires has become a popular replacement for standard air. Nitrogen is the most abundant gas around us at about 78% nitrogen with oxygen at 21% and then the rest that include small amounts of other gasses that I’m not even sure how to pronounce.
I’ll mention the environmental reasons in just a moment but lets just consider general maintenance first. Did you know that using regular air to fill your tires decreases the life of the tire, has the potential to degrade the rim safety and impacts the balance of your tires with alignment? Well it does. Now lets consider some other advantages. When considering tire inflation with nitrogen you can see improvements in a vehicle’s handling, fuel efficiency and tire life through better tire pressure retention, improved fuel economy and cooler running tire temperatures.
Now lets consider the environmental impact. This topic is much debated but it comes down to common sense. The general argument that Nitrogen is better for the environment is simple. Most people do not check their air regularly enough to optimize fuel efficiency. With Nitrogen the pressure retention is so much better that you don’t have to feel guilty about forgetting to check the pressure every time you fill up. Better fuel efficiency is better for the environment.
If you are one of those folks that carry around a pressure gauge in your pocket then I guess this doesn’t apply
.
Check out the Discover Channel video Jay Leno did on the topic. No matter what side of the fence you are on in the environmental advantages argument there are clear reasons why Nitrogen is a better alternative to your standard air machines.

They keep coming….I had a gentleman tell me today that he couldn’t believe that my tire prices beat everyone in the area for his Mazda, at a Chrysler Jeep Dodge dealer! He got prices, went and shopped around and still came back. It makes you feel great knowing that customers are choosing you because you are doing something right.

For years domestic manufacturers have been pointed out as not meeting the standards and quality of our imported competitors. However, is that really the case? Our line up continually grows and out shines our competitors on many fronts.
So now we have Toyota taking some hits and I have to say I’m not necessarily sad about it. We’ve been getting pounded over the years while they just got the unofficial nod. It is about time folks start looking at the numbers and not just assuming Toyota is better because they are an import.
We’ve fallen at times but we always get up and face our hurdles. I’m glad we are turning things around but I will be interested to see how Toyota handles their situation and their customers.
