We had a great comparison presentation yesterday between the Dodge Ram, Ford F150 and the Chevrolet Silverado.

We looked at several things; engine & engine compartment, hood & body style, fit and finish, drive train & suspension, and bed and towing. Guess what? The RAM beat all three of them, and I also sell Chevy Silverados.

Here were the things that really stood out:

1. everything in the engine compartment is clearing marked and colored to stand out. So when you go to do something as simple as checking the oil, the cap is bright yellow and labeled perfectly. Same for everything else, transmission fluid, wiper fluid, brakes, etc.
2. everything in the engine compartment was easy to reach and the compartment has a well designed front cover. No worry about getting dirty or getting your clothes caught on a bolt or other engine part.
3. the HEMI, yes it has power and with the multi-point displacement beats all of the competition when it comes to fuel efficiency.
4. the hood, yeah I know it seems simple, but the hood on the RAM opens and closes solidly. The Ford F150 hood nearly shook the whole front of the truck apart. The Chevy did better but the RAM was just the best and its style stands so far out from the rest.
5. the interior is just flat out better than all of the rest of the trucks. A lot less hard plastic and so much more refinement. Controls are placed where they easy and sensibly accessible. The electronic display just flat out blasts the competition away. Whether checking on fuel efficiency or checking the pressure of the tires, the other just didn’t have it.
6. the bed of the RAM has no seems and no bolts sticking out, I never thought of that. The bumper has lights embedded so that they are not broken and the hitch comes standard with accessible trailer connections.
7. the fit and finish was outstanding. The seems of the body parts were better and with 3 seal layers the interior was so much more quieter that the rest.

The Dodge RAM has learned so much over the years and applied the right solutions in the right place. It was by far the better choice between these three pickups.
